How do I volunteer?

We asked volunteers to fill out the registration form in the bio of our Instagram profilehttps://www.instagram.com/por1sorriso/).

We always post the start of recruitment on the feed and stories. The dates of the next actions are always available on the Linktree.linktr.ee/ongpor1sorriso).

Please ensure you have availability in your schedule throughout the entire duration of the Action before registering and await our contact.

  • Support (does not have to be from the healthcare field);
  • Dental students;
  • Doctors, Nursing Technicians, Nutritionists, and Psychologists;
  • Prosthetists (we make full dentures and partial dentures);
  • General Dentist: Is clinical experience necessary to perform adjustments, treatment planning, and posterior restorations (with absolute isolation)?.
  • Specialist Dentist: periodontics, endodontics, restorative dentistry, surgery, pediatric dentistry, orthodontics (experience with scanning required).

Volunteers from the Support team greatly help the smooth operation of the Action by assisting with registration, patient reception, digital system regulation, logistics, and material restocking.

Wait! The start of the selection process will be announced on our Instagram profile. The recruitment process is active as long as applications are open. Please pay attention to the contact information provided in the application. All applicants will receive a response via WhatsApp or email.

After the interview, we send a second form to the selected volunteers with information about the Action. It is necessary to attach personal documents, CRO for dentists and proof of enrollment for students, as well as proof of donation. We ask for a donation from the volunteers in order to encourage a culture of donation in our Country, as well as to maintain our activities and operational structure.

The third sector is an independent and important tool in redistributing access to basic rights for the population in situations of vulnerability or social risk, and Civil Society Organizations depend on a culture of donation to maintain quality service.

In return, there are no costs related to accommodation, food, and transportation during the period of the Action.

All volunteers receive a backpack, bottle, t-shirt, scrubs, cap, and other small gifts for their comfort during their service.

Sure! Our demand varies depending on the Action. If you did not go through the entire selection process, be sure to apply for the next ones.

After registration, we will contact you for an interview. After confirming participation, the volunteer needs to submit personal and professional documents, as well as proof of donation.

Donations can be made via PIX or credit card. There is no possibility of a refund for the donation or rescheduling of the Action in case of withdrawal.

You will be included in the Action WhatsApp group. In this group, we will discuss the action and schedule the date for the online meeting. Each action is unique, which is why it is very important that everyone attends the meeting (including recurring volunteers) for the smooth progress of our work.

After the meeting, we will forward the access link to each Specialty's group for specific guidance.

There is no additional cost if you choose to meet us at our headquarters in São Paulo. Departures on Tuesday at 1:30 PM and return on Sunday.

The type of transportation can vary. We usually go by van or minibus. It's important to bring a small bag.

If you prefer, you can find us at the event location. However, it is necessary to arrive on the start date of the event and leave after the activities are finished. We cannot assist with individual costs related to each volunteer's transportation.

Normally, we stay in inns, with the necessary comfort for rest. However, accommodation can vary depending on the Action, ranging from inns, lodgings, hotels, schools, mats, etc. Further instructions will be provided at the pre-action online meeting.

Meals vary according to local availability. There is no cost associated with the main meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). The food offered may be different from what you are accustomed to. We respect the individual dietary restrictions described in the final form.

We recommend bringing quick snacks to eat between appointments.

Yes.

  • Dentists: should bring two (2) boxes of gloves and a stamp.
  • Endodontists: we ask that you also bring the motor and apex locator.
  • Prosthetists: Please bring the bench motor and tips.
  • Students: one (1) box of gloves. We provide all other necessary materials and PPE for patient care.

Students do not perform procedures, but participate in all sectors of the Action on a rotation system. It is an excellent opportunity to observe patient care and learn from experienced professionals in all specialties.

During the Event, our patient flow is managed by our own digital system, which records all procedures performed and guides care by specialty. We value the provision of infrastructure and materials compatible with quality results. Appointments are performed in pairs, and although the patient flow is intense, there is time to carry out procedures with planning, calm, and attention. We are a team! Meeting people united by a purpose, the camaraderie, the exchange of experiences, and the affection of the people who welcome us make the Event feel lighter and even more significant than the appointments themselves.

We start with breakfast at 7 AM. The service period is approximately from 8 AM to 7 PM. We have lunch between 12 PM and 3 PM with a volunteer rotation system.

We meet daily at the beginning and end of our shifts for a circle of conversation and guidance.

We have dinner together and sometimes we have gatherings and other activities. We emphasize that the consumption of any type of alcoholic beverage is not permitted during the Action.

Times may change before or during the Event.

Forget the heels and uncomfortable shoes. You'll be given a t-shirt and scrubs, so just worry about bringing slacks for service and sneakers (some days we need to take a short walk to the service location).

We recommend bringing flip-flops for use at the accommodation and appropriate sleepwear for a communal environment.

Bring your toiletries and medications. You generally do not need to bring bedding and towels, but we will let you know if you do.
